General Description
The PMD-1024HLS from Measurement Computing adds 24 bits of logic-level digital I/O to any USB port. The unit?s high output current capability (15 mA source, 64 mA sink) allows the PMD-1024HLS to drive many logic level devices directly and eliminates the need for costly and cumbersome buffer circuitry.
Reliable and rugged enough for industrial applications, yet inexpensive enough for home projects, the PMD-1024HLS is the perfect way to add digital I/O to any USB capable computer. The PMD-1024HLS is fully USB plug and play and easy to use. It obtains all required power from the USB port, so no external power connection is ever required.
At 3.25 inches wide by 3.125 inches long by 1inch high, the PMDs are large enough to make connecting field wiring easy, yet small enough to fit on even the most crowded bench. Magnetic and Velcro mounting options along with a .225 inch attachment hole make mounting easy even in unconventional installations. The attachment hole can also be used by a cable lock or padlock in applications where unit security must be considered.
PMD Software is provided in a variety of forms, one of which will be ideal for any application. All PMDs include InstaCAL, Measurement Computing's powerful installation and test application, and are compatible with Measurement Computing's powerful Universal Library. The PMD-1024LS is also supported by most popular data acquisition applications packages including SoftWIRE® and LabVIEW®. (Further details on the various software options are shown below.).
Free Software
All PMD modules include a comprehensive software suite. This software includes:
TracerDAQ™: out of the box software that allows you to read from both analogue and digital inputs, and also supports logging to disk at rates below 10 Hz. You can use the supplied programming tools, including Universal Library, Universal Library for LabVIEW and SoftWIRE, to access the analogue and digital outputs and create custom applications.
InstaCal™: Measurement Computing's intuitive installation and test application.
Universal Library™: Easy-to-use driver for Winows-based standard and .NET programming languages.
UL™ for LabVIEW™: Comprehensive LabVIEW drivers that allow you to use your existing NI-based VIs.
SoftWIRE® controls: The complete set of SoftWIRE DAQ controls is included with all PMDs.
